How to Remodel Your Bathroom Without Spending Too Much Money

How to Remodel Your Bathroom Without Spending Too Much Money

When it comes to home renovations, there are two rooms that take priority: kitchens and bathrooms. Whether you’re planning on selling your home, or would like to stay there for years to come, a bathroom remodel will boost the value of your home and leave it looking great. Here’s how you can spruce up your bathroom cheaply.

1. The first thing you should focus on is your floor. You want something that looks clean, new, and matches the look you have in mind for your bathroom. One of your best options is linoleum designed to look like tile. It’s incredibly easy to install, and is also easy to keep clean. It’s also very inexpensive. Simply roll out the linoleum over your old floor, glue it down, and install some molding around the edges.

2. Next, take a look at your toilet. While a new toilet is pricey, there are some very cheap upgrades that can make an older toilet as good as a new one. Buy a new toilet seat that goes well with your sink and shower. Purchase a toilet tank water saver that will make an older toilet more green. You’ll have a great looking, low-flush toilet that cost you next to nothing.

3. Give your vanity some sprucing up. If your cabinets are in great condition, leave them be, but if not, try giving them a new coat of paint. Add new fixtures that will help your vanity look more up to date. And while replacing a sink is very costly, purchasing a new faucet and handles isn’t! Simple upgrades like this can give an old vanity a whole new look.

4. One of the first things people will notice about your bathroom is the shower. Buy a nice, new shower curtain that matches the rest of your bathroom beautifully. On the inside, install a new, water saving shower head. Give your tub a deep cleaning with a non-abrasive cleanser, and finish off by installing new shower taps. Soon, your shower will be the jewel of your bathroom.

5. Finish off your bathroom renovations with a fresh coat of paint! Start by getting a good bathroom primer, and then choose a rich color that will set off the rest of your bathroom. Take a look at a color wheel before choosing your new paint so that you can pick the most complimentary color possible. You may want to purchase a high gloss paint, as it will hold its color even when it’s constantly being splashed with water. However, if you think high gloss paint looks too industrial, try using it only in the most water-prone areas, and using a lower gloss paint of the same color everywhere else.

It doesn’t cost much to give your bathrooms some updates, and the renovations that you do will more than pay for themselves. Take a good look at your bathroom and see what tips you think you can use. Soon, you’ll have a bathroom that looks like it cost a lot of money.
